The Dolau Inn is a 17th century droving Inn set in the Mid Wales hills run by Chris & Mark since 2009. We are approximately 3 miles from Newtown, Powys in a village called Mochdre. We offer home cooked food, local ales and a small micro camp site with 2 electric hook ups. We can accommodate motor homes and small caravans but not twin axle caravans as the turning area is too small. There is also 1 B&B room with ensuite, nothing fancy just comfy and clean. We really are quite small so pre booking is advised. We can cater for small rallies and enduro parties but these must be prearranged.
New for 2017 is a brand new bunk house which sleeps 8 people incorporating 2 dorms with 4 bunks in each. £19 per night per person. You need to bring your sleeping bags, pillows are provided. To book the bunk house, please call 01686 629538. There is also an attached shower/toilet facility. This is handy for cyclists travelling route 81, walkers, enduro/green lane enthusiasts and road motorbikes welcome.
We can provide evening meals, breakfasts to order and Sunday roasts, which are very popular. We also cater for family events and buffets.
Well behaved dogs 🐶 welcome.
Please note that we currently DO NOT accept credit /debit cards However, alternative payment methods are available (BACS /PayPal)
We have been lucky enough to achieve certificate of excellence twice now on tripadvisor, don't take everyone else's view though, see for yourself.
We don't offer gourmet fine dining but we do offer honest and good home cooking fondly referred to as 'pub grub'!
.......literally a small rural Inn with lots to offer
